Working Groups

The UKCeB Task Force sponsors and facilitates a number of Working Groups, each focused on a specific aspect of collaborative information sharing. Their purpose is to identify and progress issues - and to develop advice and guidance for the benefit of Team Defence. Representation includes UK Ministry of Defence (and other Government Departments where appropriate) as well as industry. Participation is open to representatives from UKCeB member organisations and others by invitation. Minutes of meetings and other outputs from Working Groups are available on the members' area of this website.

Collaborative Infrastructure

To identify and implement an appropriate and affordable computing and communications interoperable and generic infrastructure that supports and enables collaborative working within the Defence community. The Information in the Deployed Environment project sits with the CIWG.

e-Trading

To support and drive the implementation and exploitation of the MOD purchasing solution (P2P) across the MOD’s Trading Partners and to work with the MOD in the development of their e-Procurement Strategy. To support and drive coherence of MOD procurement and supply chain systems in the sharing and exchange of information with Trading Partners.

Information Management

To work on identifying and resolving issues related to the management of information in a collaborative environment through life, such as data quality, information exploitation, information architecture governance and through life information management planning.

Joint Technical Documentation

A Working Group within the Joint through life Support Steering Group (JTLS SG).

Security and PKI ID Management

To provide better ways of working on Information Security matters by identifying key issues, developing guidance and influencing policy including the introduction of Public Key Infrastructure.

Supportability Engineering & (ILS) - SEIWG

To support the UK MoD and UK industry in improving Supportability Engineering (ILS) standards, processes (technical and management) and training in order to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of Supportability Engineering (ILS) programmes and hence ultimately to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Total System (comprising the System of Interest, the Support System and the Concept of Employment). That is, we strive to improve the Whole Life Cost Effectiveness of the "System of Interest".
