The current process for the management of Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) arrangements consists of both manual and computer based activities. Whilst meeting the basic need of supporting deployed equipment, does not provide the high levels of cohesion, visibility and control expected in a modern supply chain. The majority of the functionality to manage CLS items is conducted off-line, resulting in core requirement compliance varying between contracts often translating into different processes and procedures at unit level.
