Shane Bennison

Shane is the Engineering Director for Boeing Defence UK, Ltd, a business unit of Boeing Defence Space and Security (BDS). He joined the company in Jan 2010 and oversees and manages the engineering standards, processes and expertise of BDUK engineers at 20 sites across the UK. Bennison started his engineering career nearly 30 years ago as an RAF Engineering Officer; specialising initially in Communications and Electronics before becoming an analyst in Defence Intelligence. He retired from the RAF in 1997 and joined Ultra Electronics Ltd, Command and Control Systems, where he became the Chief Engineer (2005) and then Technical Manager (2007).

Shane is a graduate of Lancaster University and also holds a Masters Degree in Military Electronics Systems Engineering from Cranfield . As a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, he has established a number of graduate training schemes and is a trained mentor and professional registration advisor.

Away from work Shane enjoys hill walking with his wife Deborah and their two German Shepherd dogs; he also finds time, now that both sons are at University, to coach athletics and teach Judo & Karate.
