What is UKCeB's mission?

UKCeB's mission is to "transform secure information sharing for through life collaboration in defence acquisition and support." Read more in 'About' and 'Governance'

How does UKCeB fit with MOD & Industry?

UKCeB is an interface for Industry and the MOD on matters relating to its mission. It represents the views of the Industry memebership which covers major suppliers as well as small-to-meduim sized subcontractors. It enables the MOD to have contacts with Industry over a range of important matters. Two-way consultations and dialogues are often facilitiated by UKCeB.

What services does UKCeB provide under FATS/3?

UKCeB provides consultancy services relating to Secure Information Sharing and Through-Life Support. For more information, please contact UKCeB on 01454 410 550 and ask about FATS/3

Does UKCeB organise any conferences or events?

Yes, UKCeB is active in organising and co-hositng events throughout the year. For instance, it holds an annual conference in April organised with the Shephard Group. For details of forthcoming Events, please refer to teh Calendar section.

Who are the UKCeB staff?

UKCeB's staff comprise an Executive Director and a Task Force who are supported by administration and a Secretariat. Professional experience amongst UKCeB staff includes the sectors of aerospace, defence and information and communication technologies (ICT). Task Force staff have responsibilities for Working Groups, Steering Groups and Projects within UKCeB. See the 'People' section to read about UKCeB staff.

What information is there about the 2010 annual UKCeB/Shepard Defence IT Conference?

This Event will be on 14/15 April 2010 at the Tower Guoman, St Kathrine's Way, London, E1W 1LD. The conference will build on the issues debated and exposed in 2009 and has the theme “Making Sense of the Team Defence Information Business”. Topics include treating information as an asset, making
sense of the data overload and understanding behavioural issues in data collection and sharing - all in the context of support to decision making through the delivery of re-useable, interoperable solutions for secure information sharing. Case studies and practical applications will be sought and debated for the deployment of coherent Enterprise
Architectures and underpinning Information Architectures and Information Standards. In the meantime, please contact UKCeB or the Shephard Group if you have any queries about exhibiting or attending.

Can I immediately attend any group within UKCeB once I am a Member?

Some areas of the work of UKCeB are by invitation only. Many areas - such as the Wroking Groups - are fully open to participation, although you are recommended to make contact first with the UKCeB Task Force lead for each. Contact details are on the Member page for each Working Group or you can use the 'Contact Us' page.

How do you become a member of UKCeB?

Are there activities open to Non-UKCeB people?

Yes - the most obvious example is the annual UKCeB conference in April. Also, you can participate in any of the UKCeB events marked with a 'P' in the Calendar section. UKCeB memebers often gain discounts on these and other events - another benefit of joining!

Can I see the Members' area of the UKCeB website?

How does TSCP relate to UKCeB?

UKCeB is an active supporter of the work of the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Programme (TSCP). Director Wayne Grundy says that TSCP is the “only government-industry partnership developing secure solutions for today’s most critical Aerospace & Defence issues…”

What are the key Business Drivers?

Key Business Drivers for UKCeB come from both the MOD & Industry. The Defence Industrial Strategy (DIS) requires MOD and Industry to work in a variety of through-life, end-to-end partnership contracts to deliver greater operational efficiency and increased mutual business benefits. The Defence Industry and MOD must jointly consider: the impact of changing Contract Models, the right Information to the right person at the right time, the multi-contractor global collaborations, re-useable interoperable solutions and the complexity and volume of information flows

My company is a UKCeB member: how do I find out which colleagues use UKCeB?

We appreciate the some companies are very large and span many locations - hence it is not always easy to know which colleagues may be involved with UKCeB and onwhich Working Groups etc. Often companies have a 'lead contact' for UKCeB. Please us using the 'Contact Us' page and we will be pleased to help with information.

Where is UKCeB based?
